outside dussmann
tonight marcus and i ate dinner at cha cha on friedrichstrasse and then walked over to dussmann to look around for a bit. i can really easily loose myself in bookstores for hours, and if limited to only 30 minutes, i sort of panic and can't really enjoy myself at all. as it so happens we were only really there for around 30 minutes, just to quickly browse before taking the u-bahn home (prompted by a bathroom-break!), but it was nice to pop in all the same, and better that i did not spend hours looking at things, since i have vowed not to make any purchases for the duration of february (which has been going quite well so far!).
dussmann has a wonderful separate room just for English books, which is so inviting for an ex-pat far from home.

the interior of the English Bookstore is very different than that of the main store. i find it so inviting. it looks just like a book store should look like. although dussmann's main store is 5 floors of books, cds, dvds, calanders, and other things one would expect to find in a large bookstore, i think i would still favor the English Bookstore even if English was not my mother tongue simply because i could loose myself in here for hours amongst the dark wood and tartan. now if only they were hiring ...

I love the look of that bookstore! I've been thinking of making a book/literature themed tumblr. Dumb idea, probably lol.
